| | About NRFR  | Welcome to the Nisqually River Forest Reserve website. NRFR is a private,
rural community situated along the north bank of the Nisqually River about twenty miles west of
Mt. Rainier National Park and five miles west of the small town of Eatonville in Pierce County,
Washington.
NRFR consists of over 1,500 acres of actively managed forest land. It is divided
into 77 twenty-acre parcels, each privately owned with its own Forest Management Plan
registered with Pierce
County. |
| While NRFR is all about maintaining healthy, financially viable timberland, it is a lot more than
this. It
is also a place where people live, work and recreate. It includes homes, miles of trails for hiking
and
horseback riding, parks for picnicking, rivers for fishing, dark skies for stargazing and more.
NRFR includes an abundant wildlife population. Black bear, cougar, elk, bobcat, deer, grouse,
eagles and dozens of other species of wildlife have all been spotted, some regularly.
Hunting is not allowed. |
| The purpose of this website is to provide current information to members of
the NRFR Home Owners Association as well as general information to visitors interested in
learning about our community.
